Ruggles Grill's Food - Select Comments

Fantastic food, very good service, great music both live and in the restaurant ( though sometimes too loud for dining ), and the best desserts in the country. more»
Ruggles does have some of the best desserts in town and can be a lively place to dine, but there are just better options available. more»

Ruggles Grill's Service - Select Comments

The mandatory valet service ( unless you are on foot ) is a small irritation , but combined with pricey bad drinks and mediocre service , I left in a sour mood after what should have been a celebratory evening. more»

Message from Ruggles Grill
Ruggles Grill is the kind of place with so many contrasting images; even long-time patrons can?t describe it without sounding like they are talking about different restaurants. The only thing they can agree on is that the former house at 903 Westheimer is a restaurateur's dream. Critics have described Chef Bruce's foods as everything from California to New Southwestern, but the truth is in between. It does have an unmistakable touch of the Southwest, especially where the distinct flavors of chilies, peppers and other regional spices come through. There, too, is California with imaginative uses of sun-dried tomatoes, grilled vegetables and a stunning variety of fresh seafood. But the European sneaks in to some of the pastas and grilled meats. Beyond that, there's a lot of heaven in Susan Molzan's well-recognized desserts.
