The solid Italian menu created by the late chef Ernesto DeMichelle continues in the hands of Michael Gallagher who was trained by the veteran chef who had begun his career in 1945. Many dishes are still named for Ernesto, including one of his most popular, a mix of penne with fresh tomatoes, olive oil and basil. Others include shrimp Ernesto, garlicky sauteed shrimp with white wine and lemon, breast of chicken with Italian sausage, peppers, mushroooms and onions. The big restaurant has a series of dining rooms, each with a fireplace, and several banquet rooms for private parties. It's the former Hillside Inn, a Plymouth landmark.
