I was in there so long that I forgot it was on the menu, plus we needed to be out for a show ... I remained hungry until we ate at Yoshi's San Francisco, there my hunger was tamed by some awesome great dishes, and better yet, great entertainment! more»

Message from Sozai Restaurant & Sake Lounge
Sozai Restaurant and Sake Lounge is an authentic Japanese Izakaya in the Inner Sunset. We offer traditional and contemporary Japanese tapas with great sake. Sozai means "Ingredients" in Japanese; we aim to highlight the natural flavors of the earth and ocean. In Japan, we enjoy drinks while sharing tapas plates with friends and the new friends we meet at the Izakaya. After drinks, we eat starches such as Onigiri, Chazuke, soup, and noodles, along with healthy yet delightful desserts. Enjoy some of our unique dishes, including bacon-wrapped prawns in nigori cream sauce, lamb chops in shiso pesto, salmon-stuffed squash blossom tempura, Green Tea Panna Cotta, and many traditional Japanese favorites like yakitori and other kushiyaki, hamachi kama, sashimi, croquettes, udon, soba and more. We also have a great selection of Sakes and flavored sakes from Japan. Irassaiemase! (Welcome!)
